First day bus tour

On our first full day in London (Friday, May 24) we are doing a “tourist thing,” riding around on a bus for a hop-on-hop-off tour. On this particular tour, we have tickets that allow us to actually change buses among three tours, and it is easy for us to get separated. So we will plan a couple of key meeting times / places. The most important one is to meet up at Trafalgar Square in the afternoon (16.00), and then tour the National Gallery, which is on Trafalgar Square.

Advance homework

  1. Study the three tour routes, paying particular attention to the Yellow Route and the Red Route. We are favoring the Yellow Route, leaving from Trafalgar Square.
  2. Using your travel book, maps, and any other resources you desire, find out what you can about Trafalgar Square on your own.
  3. Read about the National Gallery in your travel book and on the gallery’s Web site, and identify exhibits that interest you.
  4. Stay alert for class assignments relative to “London on the Ground.”
