Day 9: Westminster Abbey & Buckingham Palace

Today, we were led on a tour of Westminster Abbey by our previous tour guide, Jo Anne, who is so nice! We snapped some pictures by Big Ben before we made our way to the famous church where Will and Kate got married. It is very symbolic to the royal family, and also holds some of the tombs of several well-known people, including an unknown soldier from WWI (whose tomb is surrounded by red carnations) and the brilliant Isaac Newton! The paintings and designs on the wall were magical, and the church itself was insanely huge, but I loved it. They set aside time for prayer every 30 minutes to an hour or so, and I really enjoyed experiencing that first-hand.

After our journey at Westminster, a few of us walked to Buckingham Palace, which was on my bucket list. It was very crowded, but we got to explore the area and see where the Queen lives! I wish I could have met her. Maddie, Wesley and I made our way to TopShop by Victoria tube station, stopped in a dine-in food area that served noodles, and went home. We were very tired after today, but happy to have seen such iconic areas and landmarks of London.
